1. A working Government.
2. Fair Elections.
3. Justice for PEV.
Justice for PEV:
President Kibaki himself indicates that ODM wants the Ocampo 6 to go to Hague to prevent Ruto and Kenyatta from running for elections in 2012. Let me tell you what this means in layman’s language. The Government fully knows that NONE is at risk if the case goes to Kenya.
You bring a very important and genuine concern about the 6 verses the 14. May be some of them did a lesser of the evil. Each one should be tried and be charged accordingly. My opinion is to hasten the trial so that the 6 can mention the others involved who should then be summoned to Hague. Bottom line everyone involved should be tried in Hague and should not run for the 2012 elections. This will be fair to all Kenya citizens hence will not have any reason to dispute abt their candiates.
Kenyan people are naturally peaceful. With the rotten politicians removed from the public it will be easy to catch anyone trying to organize violence (Again easy with a working Government). For heaven sake according to the reports Ruto and Kosgey stated planning in 2006.
A working Government:
Charging and convicting the officials involved will make the rest to know that they are not above the law. This will make it next to impossible to start new violence. We need leaders who are working for the Kenya people. How can our leaders be involved in DRUGs, Maize scandal, Dam money, import of weapons…etc Bottom line the Government doesn’t have to answer to anyone hence they can do whatever they wish this has to change.
Fair Elections:
This is the only way that we will ensure that we get competent leaders. Both PNU and ODM rigged and we rewarded them with a shared government. We need to invest on having fair elections. 1. Video surveillance on all locations. ( This will be position in such a way that it doesn’t show what someone has chosen)
2. See through ballot box, numbered and inspected.
3. Security personnel to ensure no intimidation at voting centers.
4. Numbering system where each person picks a number as they vote (something like a raffle ticket). We can then match the Total with the number of votes in the location.
Bottom line is if the Kenyan people don't come together regardless of tribe we are all DOOmed!
